Our Story

I started AK’s Closet because, while giving out water and hygiene products on the streets, several people asked for various items we didn’t have.  I thought it was very ignorant of us to come down and ASSUME we knew what they needed versus asking them and coming back another day with the items they ACTUALLY needed.

Recognizing the importance of truly listening to the community’s needs, I took a list of what they needed and promised to come back with the items. I did come back with the items but they way they were shocked that I kept my word broke my heart, so I made it my business to keep my word when it came to their needs.

Our Values

  • Compassion: We treat everyone with kindness and respect.

  • Community: We are dedicated to serving our community and making a positive impact.

  • Sustainability: We strive to minimize waste and promote sustainable practices.

How You Can Help

  • Donate: Donate your gently used items to support our mission.

  • Volunteer: Join our team of volunteers and help us make a difference.

  • Spread the Word: Share our story and encourage others to support our cause.
